A great restaurant in Kingman, AZ

"This restaurant is definitely worth a stop in Kingman, AZ, northwest corner of the state on US 40. The restaurant is in the historic part of the town. The cuisine is Italian and steak, an odd combination but the food is fantastic. I had three silver dollar sized filets mignons topped with different cheeses and perfectly cooked to order. My husband ordered a pasta which was superb from a varied list of pastas. Excellent wine list and knowledgeable suggestions. A mom and pop operation very out of the ordinary. Sympathique decor and comfortable ambience. I'd go to Kingman to eat here!"

It's sheer good fortune that puts me in front of Mattina's

"As I take my first forkful of angel-hair pasta with baby clams at Mattina's Ristorante Italiano, I'm thanking the gods... On any evening, the intimate restaurant is packed, primarily with locals thrilled to find a special of trout amandine or calamari steak in their city. Other diners regularly make the two-hour drive from Las Vegas for one of Mattina's "Capone" cuts, a grilled 16-ounce New York strip steak. For me, it will be no stretch to make the 3 1/2-hour trek from Phoenix just for the ravioli, plump with shrimp, crab and mascarpone cheese in clam cream sauce."
